Mocha is a sweet, 16-year-old mare standing at approximately 14.1hh and looking for her forever home. She came to us as a rescue/project horse, underweight and with an unknown history. Since then, she’s regained her health, put on weight, and is now back to full strength.
Mocha is broke to ride and was previously used in beginner walk/trot lessons, but she does best with an intermediate rider who can encourage her forward, as she can be a bit on the lazy side. She’s currently in training to fine-tune her skills and continue building confidence under saddle.
She stands tied and is respectful for tacking, untacking, mounting, and dismounting. Mocha also halters, leads, lunges, ties, and takes the bit without issue. She loads with a little food motivation and is currently barefoot, which has worked well for her. Her Coggins are up to date.
While we haven’t tested her in water or riding double, past videos show her doing both in a previous home. Due to her size and build, we recommend a smaller rider, as she isn’t suited for carrying heavier weight.
